Healthy, Unique, & Delicious
Yuba is a processed soy product, similar to tofu, made from the delicate skin that develops on the surface of heated soy milk, which holds the condensed flavor and nutrition of soy. Introduced long ago from China, yuba developed in Japan with traditional vegetarian cuisine. Still today, it is known as a healthy food, rich in vegetable protein and is used in increasingly diverse cuisines.
"Hiei Yuba" was founded in 1940 at the foot of Mt. Hiei and Enryakuji Temple, where Japanese Yuba was born. We have been making high quality yuba products here for over 80 years. The only ingredients are soybeans, water, skill and heart. Our simple recipe allows the raw quality difference to shine. We hope you'll enjoy our yuba!
